If Germanicus had survived and succeeded Tiberius, do you think the Roman Empire would have taken a different path, or are you projecting later disappointments onto a man who never had the chance to rule?
Indeed, Germanicus is flattering to admire because he died before true power could test him. However, I’m a big supporter of the great man theory of history, and he was one of them.
I might romanticize the outcome, but I believe with his character and track record we would have seen a different Rome.
